I would have before I was married and had kids, but now I wouldn't be willing to take that kind of risk. Two conditions however, the money would have had to be held by my family lawyer before I flipped the coin and the prison conditions would have had to be acceptable... Not Martha Stewart acceptable as had previously been mentioned, but not the sereotyped Mexican prison either. I would have been able to take that risk earlier in my life if the prison was clean, the guards were humane and their was at least a rudimentary library there to keep me busy for those years.

Sort of. I would bet that i get 10 million for heads and 3 years in prison for tails. 3 years is a long time in jail but it is not worth 10 million. An appropriate equivalent of 10 million would be like, 20 years in jail. And that is only if you are worth $50,000 a year and most people in jail aren't.

I'd want to know more about the prison and what conditions I would be dealing with (can I go where Martha Stewart was). I might risk it. Basically I'd look at it as ..either I'm going into 3 years reading and writing time or I'm going to travel the world for 3 years and then read for three years in a university...getting the degrees I've always wanted.

I sure would! I live in Florida so if I win 10 million dollars that would be great, if I don't, I can always sue the State for wrongful incarceration and win 10+ million dollars.
Plus, I would get free healthcare, food, cable tv and still be able to keep up with my workout regime.
These lawsuits happen all the time here......

If I had nothing much to do for the next 3 years, yeh, maybe I'll give it a shot, but that's highly unlikely...
I would bet on 1 day in prison, how abt that?

Yes - If it were built, designed, furnished, poplulated and all other considerations to my exact specifications. I would build the most beautiful, ocean front prison with all the luxeries I (or anyone) could want. This is fantasy land, after all.

Could someone be so greedy as to want both - 3 years in prison AND ten million dollars?

No. The loss of my freedom (for any length of time) is not a price I'm willing to risk, especially when the odds are 50/50.
