they are important beacause it makes me feel better about myself and gives me confidence, and it cool to where whats in, and if you dont have at least some sense of style and cleanliness, you appear as a slob, and i personnally think unclean slobs that dont at least wear a walmart version of whats in, are just not making n e one think highly of them

for some people it is all about image. if every star in hollywood is wearing some designer label, they all want to be just like them. however I think that really limits your personal style. I personally do not go out of my way to buy designer stuff. It is not really important to me as having my own sense of style over all. my simple coach black purse is really the only major designer item that I have.

the other thing that designer labels have that cheaper knock offs don't is quality and fit. there is far more attention to detail on the designer labels than not. Marie Claire and In Style do splurge vs. steal all the time in their magazines, and often times I cannot tell the difference until you start to point them out.

and I seem to recall ages ago when sharon stone showed up to the oscars wearing some expensive ballgown skirt and a simple gap white button up oxford shirt. Pure genius.

it can be important or not. for me it's not as important.
howeverrrrrr, I do tend to think that designer labels are much more attractive than non-designer labeled clothing and accessories. Also, I think that designer brand things are much more higher in quality and use better materials.
I could defeinately live without them though.

Because designer lables are considered high fashion, if you're a fashionista designer brands are it. I love designer brands, but I like anything to do with fashion; which means desginer brands or just any brand so long as the style is pleasing to my eyes. :)

i have some, but not because its better than cheaper things, but because if i think somethings cute, and worth it, ill buy it. designer things are no big deal to me. usually youre just paying extra money. like with coach purses. you basically pay an extra $200 just to know yourself that its real. just buy a fake!

Rich people try to seperate themselves from "us common folk" since we all have to wear clothes, they put labels on clothes just to overprice them so "the poor" cant buy it.

They give people "taste" whatever that means. Somehow yes, I consider them valuable - apart from the name it carries, I'm quite assured that the products they offer are of good quality.
