As far as pitchers go, C.C. Sabathia is "listed" at 290 lbs. For the position players, Brad Eldred of the Pittsburgh Pirates is "listed" at 280 lbs. Some other notable fat asses in the big leagues include David Wells ("listed" at 250), Bob Wickman ("listed" at 240), Jonathan Broxton ("listed" at 280), and Antonio Alfonseca ("listed" at 240). There are probably a few others that I have missed.

I would have to say that Prince Fielder is the heaviest player in baseball since he weighs 280 pounds

I know according to the beginning of the year weights, CC Sabathia is the heaviest player. However, I don't think there's any way David Wells isn't over 300lbs. He looks bigger every year and I think Sabathia looks a lot trimmer this year.

Sabathia has the current title at 290. He took over as tops after Walter Young disappeared from the majors after the 2005 season - Young had weighed over 300 pounds.

I think C.C. Sabathia is correct (290 lbs) but a player everyone else is forgetting is pitcher Jonathan Broxton for the Dodgers. I think he goes about 280 himself.

oh ok everyone is saying sabathia at 290 so that must be correct.
I was going to say Frank Thomas ( the DH for the jays) who weighs in at 270. Thats why he's built to jog the bases after a home run, not run!

CC Sabathia is 6'7'' 290 lbs, maybe his baggy uniform weighs him down more
Prince Fielder is 6'0'' 260, he's shorter, so fatter
David Wells is 6'3'' 250 lbs, no muscle
