African Americans, what do we do to get our kids to stop killing each other?

Easiest way would be to have African American fathers step up to their responsibilities. Also, young African American women need to wise up and stop having children at such a young age. There are too many instances of young single African American women raising families of two or more children by themselves. They spend most of their time working, just to survive. While they are working, the children are free to roam, and without moral direction, they inevitably wind up on the wrong path. It is probably one of the saddest situations in America today. Philadelphia is on a record homicide pace this year. I am afraid that many good minds are going to waste, dying needlessly young. Young African American women need to stand up and either abstain (preferable) or at least use condoms, until young African American men are willing to step up and be responsible for their children.

I know I'm not of African American decent, but I think the problem is that many of these precious children do not have positive male role models in their lives. I know there are many good A.A. males out there, but the sad state is that there are far more A.A. males who are fathering children and leaving them to be raised by overwhelmed mothers. Mothers who do the best with what they have. I say God Bless you Mothers. And, I say, come on young men get it together and be the fathers you should be, leading your children down the right path in life. Teaching them the "Golden Rule". Do to others as you would want done to you. This world would be a much better place if we all remembered that one more often.

The music they listen to (some of their role models) in rap, are the pits. The words are Terrible. Gangsta rap and they listen over and over and over. The message is imbedded in their brain. Of course many other rock bands can play bad music also.

These aren't the whole answer for sure. They sure don't need to hang out with bad friends and gangs either.

Fathers, give the kids fathers, or a parent, or anything besides the damned TV. BET is getting rich of teaching our kids to worship gangsters, and it's our kids that are dying. We need to raise our children, teach them values, teach them right and wrong. That is what we're failing to do.

Well, im not black, but its clear that white families and black ones raise there kids differently. Instead of trying to better your selves you think its "cool" to live in the fu cking ghetto. Your kids will stop killing each other if you raise them properly. Teach them how to wear there cloths right, teach them school is more important then doing and dealing drugs. many teens (black or white) tend to hang out with people (lower) than them to build self confidance.

but (higher) people (educated) people will only bring you up if they become your peers
