You may only know a small fraction of the people in the United States, and you may only have friendships with people who share your views on many topics, including politics.
Political polls tell us what people are thinking and feeling, they are amazingly scientific, to within a few percentage points, its true of course that you can word a question so as to get an answer that the people paying for the poll would like, but when you get to the bigger polls, not paid for by either party, or a front for a party, like Quinnapaiac, for instance, they do try to make the questions fair.
The choices for the primaries are by no means settled, what the polls mean now is simply that right now thats who the people favor, but that could change and even a dark horse could take it if there is fatigue on the part of the voters after months of dissecting the current favorites.

The current news media has its own agenda. Polls are there and reported on regularly, repeatedly to get you to think the way they want you too.
People naturally want to group together, so if your told something or someone is popular people gravitate toward that person or item (even if true or not). It is the basic principle in advertising.
Kind of scary if you think about it.

Hehehe....yep. Now you've got it.
I prefer to think for myself. At this stage in the election process, all a poll is going to dependably tell you about is name recognition. Asking for preferences before people have even thought about it is useless. Two weeks before the election, that might matter, but for now, it's just a game.

I am skeptic about ALL research. Who writes it? Who pays for it? What purpose does it serve?
ALL research is consumer-driven. ALL research is to SELL a concept.
Good question.
