It is not a great film but it makes me cry so much - what part of my brain is it affecting

Everyone I know cried at the end of that movie. It makes you think about your own dreams and believe that miracles can happen. It is also very emotional between he and his father which is something that many of us have experienced or wish we could.

Scene after scene of people walking off and disappearing into the corn field creates a powerful analogy to the real life experience of watching loved ones go through stages leading to death. We are social creatures, family-oriented beings, that long to embrace, hold on to, and remember those people and experiences that we love. And this all adds up to lots of emotion and, for many of us, tears.

Why are you looking for a neurological explanation in the psychology area? Wouldn't it be more appropriate to ask "what part of my mind is it affecting?"

Since the theme of the film is one's man's unresolved feelings toward his father, that would be a reasonable place to start...

Maybe the portion that still wants to believe that dreams can come true. You know it's a rare thing, but you dont want to give up hope. And-never give up hope. You may not have a basebal diamond in your future-but you can never give up on your dreams.

Its because you are having a hard time when you realize Kevin Costner is at best a B grade actor. You are simply overwhelmed that he can be so bad and still make so much.
