Shouting solves nothing, and so does the silent treatment. My policy in trying to settle an argument has always been to sleep on what is going on, and then confront the other person when things are calmer and we are both rational enough to discuss all the facts. It works for me.

Silent treatment by far. It gives the impression of superior self control, etc. It says you don't need to yell and scream to get your point across.
Did you ever notice in stories, the bumbling noisy bad guy is always... well... bumbling, and the silent bad guy is so much more sinister?

For me personally, with one certain person, the silent treatment is the best way, I can be quiet for days and days!

Shouting is the worst form of communication. If your silent, you might at least have time to think and make sense of the situation.

silent treatment, definitely. if you shout, the other person will more than likely keep shouting back & it won't end.
when you don't say anything the other person it ends the argument faster & they will give up if you don't say anything back

Shouting closes peoples ears. Silent treatrment infuriorates. Better to talk calmly and logically, and take your time to make the right response.
