Why can't an abstract political or philosophical question get more attention?

Great question.
I have also wondered why the most base, stupid, inane questions get 25-30 answers while the ones requiring thought get perhaps 5 or 10 answers, many of which are the equivalent of "Your Momma".
I think it's just another example of the great lengths many Americans will go to in order to avoid cerebral activity.

Pointed questions on religion seem to get the most responses. I thought I had a couple of good ones of a more intellectual bent, and received about two responses.

Jean Paul Sartre said "Evil is the product of the ability of humans to make abstract that which is concrete," which basically sums up my thoughts on the subject.
