to tell you the truth if you want some romantic mixed up plots try INUYASHA
i strongly recommend DEATH NOTE though it lacks romance but it's better than anything else.
you might try one of the above
- BUSOU RENKIN - One night, Kazuki Muto jumps in to try to save what he thinks is a girl in distress from a monster and instead gets impaled through the heart. The girl, Tokiko, is actually an alchemic warrior with a Busou Renkin, name of Valkerie Skirt, with the mission to exterminate Homunculi. It's kinda entertaining
-GHOST HUNT - it's actually what the title says and it's quite entertaining (in the same manner would be GAKKOU NO KAIDEN - SCHOOL GHOST STORIES - but i doubt that you will find anything)
- WOLF"S RAIN - to tell you the truth, i found it quite sad. it's about a pack of wolves who go in search of the lunar flower that would lead them to paradise
- FULL METAL ALCHEMIST - it's about 2 boys' quest to fix a mistake they made (don't worry, the intro will tell you each and every time what the story is about)
- FULL METAL PANIC - the only mecha or sorta mecha i liked (though i only saw season 1 - season 2 seemed stupid and 3 too sad)
- SAMURAI CHAMPLOO - the search for the samurai that smells like sunflowers - it's quite entertaining as an action anime, but the fight are done kinda too soon
- COWBOY BEBOP - one of the best animes ever, the action takes place sometimes in the future; it's filled with everything you might need. of and you might wanna see the movie too (KNOCKING ON HEAVEN"S DOORS)
- TRIGUN - it's quite nice the first 15 episodes (about a man with a huge bounty on his head, that refuses to kill) but after that the last 10 are really weird. nice on morals
- YU YU HAKUSHO - an old anime, kinda hard to find on the net as i noticed....it's excellent on the action level
- GET BACKERS - tis one is full of chibbi thingis, i mean one moment it's all serious, the next is horribly stupid. maybe you enjoy it
- ELFEN LIED - quite violent and quite disturbing on the psychological level
- VAMPYRE PRINCESS MIYU - might like it - it's not that violent and some of the stories are quite sad
i'm sry, these ore the only i could think about right now...i've seen many more

InuYasha is a great anime show that you would never want to miss. It contains alot of action and romance.Its a favourite of many anime lovers. DragonBall Z is also a a top-of-the-line anime show. You'll definitely love them.
