What do mean dealt with? If you are talking about the fairness doctrine I think it is a joke and if all that can make it financially on radio are conservative talk show hosts that is fine since the market should control the airwaves not the government.

I don't know how you could deal with it.

Most of the right-wing stuff is not worth much. The hosts play fast and loose with the facts, and the ones I've heard rarely have guests on who will challenge their opinions. So it's pretty much one-sided.

The purpose of such shows is typically not to provide information, but rather to keep the listeners in a continual state of outrage and umbrage. So the hosts are always pissed off about something, and the listeners too. Everybody is always angry. If you want to be an angry person, right-wing talk radio is a great way to accomplish that. Beyond that, I don't see the point.

Some years ago one of my uncles started listening to talk radio. All of a sudden it was "Rush says this" and "Rush says that," and "liberals are evil," and so on. So this guy who used to be interesting and nice to be around tuned into this angry person who through his continual rants became irritating and boring. I couldn't stand him after a while, but for talk radio it was "mission accomplished."

Dealt with? By the Govt? By Dems/Libs? The American people has two ways to deal with talk radio, they can change the station, or turn off the radio!

Not by the government. The only people who should make the decision about talk radio are the listeners. If they don't like it, they shouldn't listen. If they don't listen, the ratings will go down. If the ratings go down, the advertisers will pull out. If the advertisers pull out, talk radio will go out of business. Capitalism in action! Not that I think this will happen--Trent Lott's whining about it will probably produce the opposite effect.

No, I think people are too soft and need to have a sense of humor about themselves. I'm not saying be rude or take a abuse but understand when someone is JOKING, if you don't like it change the station....

On the flip side, if everyone did have a good sense of humor I wouldn't have as much fun pushing peoples' buttons!

I say if you can't laugh at yourself you're never going to be happy in this crazy world!

Dealt with how? We pride ourselves on freedom of speech. If you shut the talk radio hosts up, will you then prevent michael Moore from making movies, what about porn, will you make them stop? You open a can of worms this country hopefully will not open.

It has been a great tool to diminish the GOP party. Rush Limbaugh hasn't done anything but spew lies and spam. Rush himself admitted to being a paid constituent and posted an apology right after the GOP's defeat after last Novembers elections. http://www.smirkingchimp.com/thread/2500

I dont know what "talk radio" (station) you are on about..In my opinion, talk radio is under rated.. What I dont like about radio today is all the music where the dj's keep playing the same songs over and over again... It seems like all they ever do is spit out some nonsense inbetween the songs and spin their next shitty pop song..

I'm sure Liberals would love that, after all they are definitely opposed to any media that isn't firmly under their control. And of course they love censorship so that's yet another reason for them to want to go after talk radio.
