You can buy a usb mouse for about $10 (wireless ones are about 30-40 dollars) they work better and are easier to use than the touch pad--especially for games.

If it's an eraser-looking thing in the center of the keyboard, it's called a Trackpoint® by IBM, and your laptop vendor may have replacement tips for it, as some are replaceable. If it is, you replace them by gripping the old tip and pulling straight up.

As the other guys said, it's a touchpad and notebook manufacturer may sell it to you but I doubt it cause it's not so easy to change it, you need to take appart all the laptop to replace it.

it is called touchpad.... i recommend an usb mouse for better precision... it can be wireless or not ;)
