It is her personal choice so I don't judge that. Society tells us that a person not wearing a bra may be immoral, or sloppy etc. This is a value that others may not care about. I say live and let live, she may find them uncomfortable or she may have a skin condition that prevents her from being able to wear them without extreme discomfort. I personally don't care what others do as it is none of my business.

I have developed a problem with the muscles in my shoulders and can no longer wear a bra, it made me very self conscious for a while, and I did notice the looks. The ladies were the worst about looking down on you if you don't have one on. If you choose not to wear one or can't it should be no ones business but yours. People should worry about their own lives and quit putting their preferences on others. I finally came to the conclusion, you don't like it, don't look. Guess what I feel a lot better.

Is that right, patois?

I frickin' hate bras. They're ridiculously uncomfortable (I in fact do have a skin condition that makes them itchy), and I would find it rude for anyone to be staring at my (modest) boobs in the first place, trying to figure out whether I was wearing a bra. Breasts are natural and beautiful, whether bouncing or resting; they were not designed to be obsessively covered, bound up, and suffocated. Nor were they meant to be the taboo body part that they've become. This male breast obsession - not practicality, concern for the woman's comfort, or concern for saving the breasts from sagging - has fueled the bra fetish since late-nineteenth-century Victorian times and engrained in women that "it's only proper" to wear a bra.

I prefer to wear halter swimsuit tops over bras of any kind. So mostly I don't wear them except to job interviews or when I'm wearing a snug shirt. That said, cotton sports bras are indispensible for dance and aerobics.

Errr..you're a guy. Ever worn one? Did you like the feeling of the lace biting into your flesh? The metal fasteners biting into your back? The tight elastic squeezing the breath out of you, suffocating you? How about sweating in the summer heat and humidity - the slimy persperation trapped against your skin underneath a tight, airless binding of synthetic material that feels for all the world like wearing Saran wrap?

For average and small women, there are ways of getting around going without a bra (obviously not on the job where dress is conservative, though). I don't know anyone who likes those horrible things. They are gawdawful.

I can understand the need to feel free, and fresh. Who wants to feel restricted all the time? Plus, we didn't come in the world with a bra!

Our lymph systems filter out cancer cells that appear all the time in our bodies. Restricting lymph flow impairs the ability of our bodies to fight and prevent cancer from seating and spreading. Bras, especially underwire bras, increase a woman's chance of getting breast cancer.

Depends on body shape. I dont want to see a woman with her breasts hanging down to the ground because of a lack of a bra. Just so you know, I dont want to see fat men in Speedo's either!

As long as you are small and have the sense enough to keep enough fabric covering your nipples, who cares? But if you are a bodaceous babe who can blind a man in the next county, well then you're just acting plain skanky. Anyone who is large enough to jiggle when they move, should wear a bra....

I'm so sorry you don't have enough money to buy a bra ... I swear a good bra is worth it's weight in diamonds ... but, I understand not all have this privilege which breaks my heart.
