Icas80 it right about going to a community or Jr. College for the first two years: But there are also other reasons community Colleges or Jr. Colleges are better for the first two years:

One: Class size: Community Colleges as a rule have smaller classes compared to Major Colleges:
A good example of that is a Major University close to where I live: Class size when I attended First year English was around 250: It was more like a correspondance course than anything else: Compared to local communtiy College's size size for the same course of around 35 to 40:

Two: Most instructors at community colleges have worked in the field compared to in a lot of cases Student Instructors who are working on their Master's and Phd's who are instructing the freshman classes at major colleges under the supposed giudance of the profressor of record, and have never worked in the field.

Three: Cost: A Community college as a rule cost less per semester hour as well: In other words a lot cheaper.

Four: Living at home saving cost of housing and food as well as transportation.

Five: Community colleges have more remedial courses offered if you need them than major colleges: Note remedial courses do not as a rule transfer as credits nor or they offered as credits. They are mainly to get you up to speed so you can take the accredited courses: Which is something to watch for when talking with your counciler:

Six: Another reason to attend a community College is the ability to audit the courses. Community colleges are more willing to let you audit courses than major colleges: It allows to audit a course you know you are going to have trouble with first, then take the course for credit.

Those are six good reasons to attend a community college the first two years: The most important being CLASS SIZE and over all cost:

But keep in mind: Make sure the courses you are taking will transfer to the Major College you are transfering to.

Well I Heard that as long as you have a high school diploma you can study anything you wanna be . And I think It only matters with the gpa the grade point average cause some scholarships require u to have a 3.0 3.5 and that community colleges require a minimum of a 2.0 . But I really don't know about a good college But I'm sure if u only have one D and the rests A,so and B,so it's priblaby a good gpa still etc so don't be scared my friend I'm sure it's nothing bad against you as long as it's a D a passing grade it is way better than an F I hope I helped :)

"u have to attend a community college. a C is not fine for college. bring your grades up to A's and B's then you can transfer to a 4 year school probably after 2 years. Work hard at the community college! Dont slack off"

While I do agree not to slack off, keep in mind that once you get a 2 year at a Community College, that the University has to accept you (with some rare exceptions). So don't fret if you get a 'C' here and there.

I agree with the first responder. Community college is the way to go for you. You have to bring that GPA up to the minimum requirement of 2.0 or 2.5, depending on the college. There are colleges that will let you in but on a restricted basis. They will require that you explain exactly why your GPA is so low - this is usually done in the admission application. But if I were in your shoes, just go to CC. It's also a good why to get some of those general education classes out of the way for cheap.

Go to a community college for a year or two, prove you can handle the work, and then transfer to a four year college.

Go to a community college and get your 2 year degree. My daughter quit HS, had to take the GED and then went to our local community college. She is now a senior at CSUSB majoring in Anthropology. It can be done......Go For It!

When applying to colleges, B's and C's aren't great either. You'll probably want to start out at community college to see if you really want to go to a 4-year school.
