I have heard this term several times, but am still confused as to what exactly it means. Please explain what "Sweet Revenge" means. Give an example.

When you are very offended and want to revenge your offender, you can do something bad to him/her. Doing this, you feel like you are eating something sweet(candy, for example). This is the meaning of the expression "sweet revenge".

Sweetness is a good flavor, so revenge that is sweet is revenge that tastes good, that takes the bad taste out of your mouth, and that you like to linger over.

Do you know what revenge means?
Revenge is getting back at someone or something that did something to harm you. Revenge is "sweet" because it feels good to get back at something that did something bad to you.

WOW! This soooo sounds like me! I don't think it means much if anything. I text like four people goodnight every night. But my best friend who is a senior boy almost always texts back "good night, sweet dreams". I think that they are just trying to be nice.... I am not quite positive though

'Sweet revenge' is a phrase used to describe retribution that is deserved or warranted.
For example, 'Person A feels that Person B deserved all of the punishment he or she could sustain'.
One person wrongs another person. The retaliation is thought to be deserved, for instance.

SWEET REVENGE IS EXACTLY WHAT IT IMPLIES. WHEN YOU GET BACK AT SOMEONE FOR ANY REASON, ITS SWEET WHEN IT TAKES PLACE BECAUSE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED RUINING THEIR LIVES AS THEY DID YOURS.

Kinda like poetic justice. In-kind payback.
Boyfriend dumps you for your girl friend. and just as you start dating this hunk pal of his, he decides he wants you back. And, of course, you have to tell him you found someone else.
