Grandparents rights group would be the first place I would seek out. Not all states recognize grandparents rights so you may not have any recourse with the visitation.

contact a lawyer---you DO have grandparent rights in almost ALL the states.... but a lawyer will be more able to let you know---UNFORTUNATELY, it will cost you some money---my question here is doesn't your DAUGHTER have visitation rights to her own kids.? and if so, why doesn't SHE bring them around? If your daughter is deceased, to which I am sorry, then by all means, get to a lawyer so that those children will not forget you OR their mother... it is NOT any of the "stepmother's" business ---this should be only between you and the ex-son-in law... they are NOT HER KIDS!!!!! Oh and unless you had problems with abusive behavior or your son in law knows something that would be determental to his kids---then I MIGHT be able to see why you weren't given visitation--HOWEVER, if you had a good loving relationship with those children it is MORALLY WRONG to totally separate you from those kids and like I said SHE should NOT be controlling the situation because she is only the STEPMOTHER.... Please call a lawyer... the cost is MINIMAL if it means you can be with your grandkids again.

Contact a lawyer. Every state has different laws regarding grandparents rights. My state has no grandparents rights. In MI, grandparents cannot see their grandchildren unless the parents decide to allow it.

Alot of what youllfind are merely guidelines for the courts to go by and not so much legal rights per se.So all your rights come down to basically what the courts are willing to give you based on your grandchildrens parents wishes. So you take the custodialparent into court for visitation rights and see what happens.
