I was once - I found a letter from the tooth fairy under my pillow after I lost a tooth - and I did not recognise the handwriting!

Yeah I totally was convinced too. And really liked that I got money from it. But as the years passed I wonder if I used to convince myself for the sake of receiving money for my teeth lol

I don't remember ever believing in the tooth fairy... I do remember, though, that in place of each tooth left under the pillow, I always found either a nickel or a quarter. ANd I was always thrilled with either. I recall my dad being equally thrilled... but back then (around 40 years ago) I just can't recall whether I attributed the money to a tooth fairy or just to a mysterious tradition.

Uhm, I've never believed in the tooth fairy. And I would stop believing in it if she just left me a letter instead of money. Losing a tooth hurts.

Atheism isn't a faith because you don't become an atheist by blindly following the flock or taking a leap of "faith". You become an atheist by having doubts about religion and then following it up with a lot of hard study. The conclusion: all of the religions of the world were invented by people to explain the mysterious things they observed in life, e.g., death, lightning, fire, suffering, etc. And somewhere along the way, a few people found that religion was also useful to control others to get what they wanted, e.g., money, power, submission of women, slavery, etc.

I was never conviced because we had to put the teeth on the fireplace, and that did not make sense to me. So, I always thought that there was soemthing to it. After about a year or so of thinking this, I asked my parents and then whenever I lost a tooth i would go to them and get a dollar.

No, I have never been completely and thoroughly convinced of the tooth fairy's existence.

I figured she existed but I was at a loss as to why she never came to my house after all those mornings and evenings of not brushing just for a quarter.
