Tell me, when you climb down from your soapbox?

Do you hear out others, when they get up on theirs?

Inspired by mike. Thank you, kind sir. (and please don't take umbrage with my calling you "sir", if I failed to call any male over the age of twelve "sir", my daddy'd rise from his grave and skin me alive.)

I do not own a soapbox, but I will climb down off my high horse to answer your question.

Listening to others, especially those with differing opinions and beliefs, is the greatest sign of intelligence. How can you learn or confirm your own beliefs if you do not listen to others? And if you cannot defend your position, professionally and with fact, then maybe your position is wrong.

My answer, Sir, I was taught that too and it was reinforced in the Navy. lol
Yes, I do listen to them and that is part of my learning process.Those that do hear can give you a different perspective of what or how you see or see it.

Did you know the other moms call me to find out whats going on with their kids? A big part of making sure kids listen to you when you lecture is to make sure you listen to them, even when they whine.

Know the situation and circumstances. Then go from there,You 'll be safe. Remember the soap boxes are different heights.

I listen, think about it and even admit they are right. (when they are) Not always able to tell them that, but still admit it. Others may have something to say that could improve my way of thinking which also will improve me. It's not always easy listening, hearing and admitting....but it's right.
