against...nothing should be worth killing a child over.
The whole pro choice thing doesn't make sense to me. The mother had a choice and she chose to sleep with someone. If you don't want a baby and you don't want the responsibility that comes with it than you shouldn't be sleeping with people. If the pregnancy came from a rape or something like that, then I think it's a different story...but still NOT worth taking a life over. After all, the child may grow up to be a fabulous human being, even if the pregnancy happened because of a crime...the babies still a person and still has the right to live their life to the fullest. And I refuse to agree that, just because it hasn't developed and been born, a fetus is not a living person.
And plus...often women who go in for an abortion regret it for the rest of their lives. In some places, when a woman goes in for the procedure, her body is put through things that people couldn't imagine and she leaves scared physically as well as mentally.

Well let me say this about that: I am pro-choice. That being said, it is my belief that I do not have any right to force my opinions on anyone else.
Should I choose to be pro-life, I should then also be willing to adopt and support the unwanted child which could be subject to unintentional neglect because of a poor financial situation, or other unfortunate circumstances that the child may come in contact with. That is my biggest beef is that pro-life are adamant against abortion, but do nothing when it comes to the mother having the child other than point her to the nearest welfare office or adoption agency.
However, with the vast amount of birth control devices (i.e., pills, shots, implants, etc.) available today, I see no reason for the numerous "accidental" pregnancies.
Abortion, however, is not a form of birth control, although some people use it as such.
I many not agree with it in all instances, but as I said, I am pro-choice and do not impose my will on others. I believe it is their life (lives) their business.
EDIT: May I also say that I am totally against 2nd and 3rd trimester abortions. If you can't decide before 12 weeks...well you need more than just an abortion.
EDIT PART DEUX: And for those of you who believe it is right to force your will on others, how would you feel if the shoe were on the other foot? Thanks for the thumbs down on this one, I can be proud of those.
Enjoy your day!

I believe it is completely wrong... I believe that conception begins life and only God has a right to end that life... I believe that abortions are incredibly damaging to the mother emotionally and that many don't receive the help and support they need to make such a monumental decision and then afterwards to heal properly. I also believe the Government doesn't have the right to legislate against abortions... meaning making them illegal (except in partial birth abortions those are just cruel and disgusting) In saying that I believe that we have a responciblity to counsel women give them options teach them to respect themselves and Life. We need to have compassion for these people who 90% of the time are just plain terrified. Showing young people that sex should be more than just some passing fancy Something saved for committed relationships...with someone you you want to have a child with someday... Their wouldn't be a problem with abortions if society hadn't cheapened Sex and intimacy... it's a beautiful thing and a beautiful commitment... not something to just give away like candy. And for the women who have already had abortions we need to help them through the inevitable emotional repercussions not treat them like horrible people.
I believe this way from my faith (i am a christian) and from being their for friends who have been in the situation either to make the choice or have made the choice.

For it. I believe in the right to have choices regardless of the circumstance. At my age and place in life I would not choose an abortion (36 married). But if I was younger, alone and not financially able to provide I would strongly consider abortion as an option. I also would never judge another person for this choice. This is a very hot topic and unfortunately people always think they know what is best for someone else.

I am against it, I think it teaches people that they don't have to take responsibility for their actions....Also people are always talking about a women's right to choose now don't get all crazy i know it is a women's body but, what about in situations when the father wants it but the women doesn't????? I guess it is OK for the mother to decide to keep it and make the father pay child support, but it isn't OK for the father to say whether he wants his child to live or not

As soon as the sperm and egg join together, the cells begin to divide and multiply. Life has begun right there.
Makes me sick to read of the Doctor in Kansas who performs abortions during the 2nd and 3rd trimester, when we spend millions fighting for the lives of preemies and adoption fees.
I am the grandma of a preemie. Such an adorable child and one would never know.
I believe in adoption. It runs in my family, a grandmother, an aunt, a niece, 2 of my own children.

It's not a question of women's right to procreate or not to procreate...
It's a question of humans' right to born...
If our mothers had aborted, we actually wouldn't be here discussing...
ABORTION IS A CRIME

Since I am a male I will never have to have an abortion. I don't think it is any of my business as long as it does not concern me. It is surely not the Governments business. It is a personal issue and should be treated as such.

I'm against it. You're just murdering someone who isn't even born yet and hasn't had a chance at life. It just seems morally wrong to me. I would never have one.
