The fan is making lots of noises, and I plan on having someone else install a new fan since I cannot figure out how to get the thing out (I see no screws, latches, and pulling doesn't get it out either). I am not trying to be sold but I would like something of better quality than this. How much should I spend? Are there reliable brand names anyone knows of?

If you are not sure HOW to get the fan out simply take the PC to a shop (small PC shop is best) and ask them to do it.
It sounds like it's the CPU fan, therefore not QUITE so simple to change. Let the shop see it and advise accordingly.

One of the most important specs is the CFM rating. Cubic Foot per Minute. Which is how much air it will move.
