I tried searching through yahoo's Q/A dbase of previous questions on this topic to find out if there is actually a way of tracking someone down and their whereabouts. After attempting a few of the sources I found, no luck so far... as far as I've gotten is server IPs in both Yahoo, California and also servers possibly located at "AFRINIC" ??? I need to find out if an email I received is from a legitimate business source or not...any advising is greatly appreciated...Thanks in advance.

Nope you can't YOU might be able to track it to an AREA at best, but not with any accuracy. Also if the mail was sent via a web based system, they ,ight simply point at the web server.

If the email is not one you REQUESTED it's SPAM, so DO NOT respond to it, to do so only make s the SPAM problem worse
