I've found there's no sure way to win an auction. The basic strategy is to only bid as high as you want to go. Also it's a good practice to wait until the last few minutes before it ends and bid your max then. That is called "sniping" and is common on Ebay. If not possible to watch auction that close pick as close a time as possible and bid your max and hope for the best. Also another tip is when bidding pick an odd amount like (for example) $14..53 or 14.56 rather that a common amount like 14.50 or 14.75 etc. Sometimes it makes a difference in close auctions. None of these strategies are guaranties you'll win an auction but may increase your chances. Good luck!

You may have a chance, but if you know that an item sells for $15, why didn't you put your max bid as $15?
You might be outbidded by $14.51.
You always try to go as high as possible.
OH that's not right what the person above just wrote.
That's the fun part of bidding on Ebay!
I would highly suggest no on that answer.

It depends on the popularity of the item & the # of bids before you- the higher the bids, the harder it will be for you to win at the last minute... they would bid to win. A good way to check is to see if another item same as yours is being sold by someone else and if there had been any bids on it. For future reference bid at the last 1.5-1 minute in minimum incriments preferably using a computer thats on high speed internet. Good luck, I'm rooting for you!!!

Auctionsniper won't help her if she can't bid again.
It seems that about all you can do now is to wait and watch.
If you sign in at ebay and go to the item's page, it tells you how long it has left in auction, as well as what the current bid is.
If you refresh the page, it will provide more current information. Closer to the end of the aution, you may want to refresh often to keep up to the minute info.
I hope this helps some.

You have about a 50/50 chance since you can't bid again. The trick is to watch the item and bid at the last minute.....
