He needs to be traded at this point. He has already sent a message out to his teammates that he does believe in them and that he does think they are any good.

One man is not worth disrupting an entire franchise.

I think the Lakers should give Kobe EXACTLY what he wants... a trade. Looking to the Eastern Conference makes sense to me. Send him to the Knicks like everyone thinks he can fit in. No only will he bring them further down ( hard to believe it could happen but it can, I assure you ) but they would be of little threat to the Lakers should they get into the playoffs again. The worst thing that the Lakers could do is trade him to a Western Conference team and then get beat by Kobe's new team in the playoffs. Not sure why any team would truly want Kobe though.. he will blame an entire team for HIS poor play and decisions and IF they were to win he would surely want all the credit.

I have been an avid Kobe fan, but his recent trade demands and whining has completely soured me. Ideally, he would privately ask and insist on his trade demands and Lakers would "secretly" send out feelers without sounding desperate until they find something good. With Kobe's demands being so public, Lakers are cornered. They should just trade him if at all possible without decimating the team/organization.

Trade him to Toronto. Worse yet, Memphis! Or Minnesota!

Think you're right. Kobe has done a lot more harm than good this year. The Lakers should probably cut their losses--and him.
