Notice that 1000 is the same as 10^3.
So, you have:
10^2x-5 = 10^3
That means:
2x - 5 = 3
and, x = 4

10^2x-5=1000
The first thing to do is to make the bases the same....
since 1000 is a multiple of 10, you write it in exponential notation as 10^3, which is equal to 1000. so 10^2x-5=10^3
since now all the bases are the same, they just cancel each other and remain with 2x-5=3
Now, you are going to solve for x
2x=3+5, The 5 crossed to the other side and became positive coz it was negative initially....
2x=8. then divide both sides by 2, to get x on its own
x=4.
Goodluck! Math is just beautiful!

Assume question is:-
10^(2x - 5) = 1000
Take log base ten of both sides:-
(2x - 5) = 3
2x = 8
x = 4

10^2x = 1000 + 5
log (10^2x) = log 1005
2x = log 1005
x = (log 1005)/2
x is approx. = 1.50108
