This worm is 13 1/2 inches long. He was found in a dry sandy area of my back yard. He's fatter than a pen. White/ lite pink in color. Looked like he shedded skin. Rings in the body looks like worm, but head has begining patterns of snake skin.

blind snake, a.k.a. worm snake....
up to 16 1/4" long but usually smaller, the eyse appear as dark spots under the scales of the blunt head. A shiny snake, the color is purplish, brown or pink with a creamy underside. found in s. california through to western texas and into northwestern mexico and found in arid areas but where is some moisture in soil that is loose enough to burrow in. occasionally cound on the surface at night, but mostly dug out from under rocks, the roots of shrubs and around ant nests. feeds on small insects, especialy ants, plus spicers, millipedes and centipedes, lays a clutch of 2 to 6 tiny eggs.

it is not really a worm. I am not sure where you are located but it sounds like it could be a blind snake or possibly a worm snake. Maybe even a legless lizard of some type. Pics would make it a lot easier to ID

ok if it has slit like things after its (head) than its a leggles lizard if it has no slits and it shed its skin then yes it most likley ls a worm snake. here is a web sit go to yahoo search type in worm snake it grow right in where you said that one was good luck

That is one big worm! Are you sure it isn't a small snake? Can you see eyes and a mouth?

well it could be a worm snake (also called blind snake)....
i found one && thought it was a worm until i saw it had tiny eyes! i took it to my aunt who is a snake researcher && she told me what it was....you should look up worm snake or blind snake pics && see if they look like what you found.
