My dryer is pretty new and everything works find except for the drying mechanism. The clothes just don't get dry. Does anyone know what this might be and how I can fix it?

Everyone can assume that I know how to check the filters and vents and this is a kenmore elite brand less than two years old. I am looking for people that actually might know what could be wrong rather than just making wild guesses.

First thing to do is turn on the dryer let it run for a couple minutes then open the door and see if it is hot inside. This will tell you if the heating element is working. If its hot inside then check to see if the tub inside rotates when you turn it on. If it gets hot and rotates then next thing is check to make sure that the vent hose is not partially crimped or blocked. Some time its the simple things that cause the problem. Also make sure the dryer cycle is long enough to dry clothes.

Are the filters and vents clear? That's my first guess.

When I worked as a housekeeper, there were washers and dryers in the apartments that wouldn't do their job worth a toot for anything. I sure hope you don't have one of those!

could be your washer not spinning out all the water. ! or a clogged , crimped vent hose.
