He believed that the best was a benevolent dictatorship. Unfortunately this was a theoretical posibillity as there is no history of such a government surviving. Rather sad really.

I thought that Plato's idea of the best type of government is an Aristocracy. But he eventually believes that this government would fall into a Tyrannical type of government.
If you have read any of Machiavelli, his ideas on government are pretty interesting also.(The Roman Republic), which is similar to what we have now.
