I was fired. I wasn't receiving benefits at first. But about a month ago I started receiving unemployment benefits. All because I answered an honest question on the survey asking if I was in school. If I had known that my honest answer would result in no benefits at all then I would have answered no to the telephone survery's that you call in each week. I have a family, of three four including myself. The government does not care if my family and I survive. I enrolled in an CDL training course at the City Colleges in CHicago. It is a 6-10 course, and I will come out with my CDL license plus the actual CDL certificate. A job paying $10 per hour or less would not be beneficial to my family, we won't survive, so I am trying to better myself by enrolling in the training program. IDES is saying that I can't actively look for a job, because my schooling is from 9am- 3pm. Which is untrue, I have gotten interviews for jobs that I have went to. Can they take my unemployment away?

It used to be that if you were laid off and in training, you would get a check anyway. Don't be afraid to ask for an appeal. You will either get a phone interview or have to go to the office to explain basically why you feel you should get an unemployment check.
The employer owes it to you if you were laid off, unless they came up with some stupid new rule. With faxes, internet, and telephones, a person can basically apply for a job by submitting applications and resumes online 24 hours a day. And I would use that logic. Gone are the days when you had only a telephone and submitting resumes by mail.
Don't be afraid of the appeal; I went through one many years ago and it isn't anything intimidating. Especially if your employer isn't paying for your schooling-that's just ridiculous.
The appeal I had came out in my favor and the checks are retroactive. So you may get enough money to catch up on bills or whatever. Best of Luck to you !

The best thing you can do is disguise yourself and family as illegal aliens from Mexico. Then you will qualify for free medical, free food stamps, free housing and all kinds of other goodies that Americans here don't get. Also, if you find a job then you won't have to pay any taxes. It is a sweet deal being stuffed down the throat of every taxpaying American.

as long as you is in training you can get a check... it may be from a different source... If they paying ya then keep going to school if not then tell them you is in school and show proof...they should pay you from a fed fund set aside to help folk out for just such a thing.
