I read an article once (it was a serious article in a serious scientific journal, but I don't recall which one) while wasting time at work one day a few years ago. It didn't say it could prove it, but it did say that mathematically the most probable explanation is that mankind and the universe as we know it are a computer simulation.

They calculated things like a god creating us, evolution and spontaneous generation from a random chemical mix, etc. and the most plausible is that we are a simulation. It was pretty interesting.
