So:
(24x^4)^1/2
Then, you take the square root of 24 and multiply it by the square root of x^4
So: sqrt(24) * x^2
= 2x^2*sqrt(6)

24 = 2 X 2 X 2 X 3

x^4 = x^2 X x^2

So taking square root of each we can write

sqrt 24x^4 = 2x^2 x sqrt2 x sqrt3

factor 24x^4
2*2*2*3*x*x*x*x
take out pairs and you get
2x^2sqrt6
