Because Christians buy a lot of calendars. You could have asked about Jewish holidays unless you live where Jew are not acknowleged. In the USA many calendars also include the major Muslim events as well as USA and Canadian holidays. Christmas is a federal holiday (federal workers get off, most banks close, etc.) in the USA.

These are major holidays that are celebrated in the United States. You will also find the 4th of July, St. Patrick's Day, Yom Kappur, Valentine's Day, Father's Day, Mother's Day, New Year's day.
It's not forcing you to celebrate anything it's just reminding you that those holidays are there.

Because the calendar designers realize that most people want to know when those holidays are, even the people who aren't Christian. Most calendars on the computer will allow you to choose which holidays, if any, you want listed.

They are national holidays. (Well, maybe not ash wednesday, but it is important to many) Memorial, Labor, and Veterans day are all on their too. Not a big deal.
