Is (4x+12-12) all under the sqrt?

If so, square both sides to get 4x+12-12=0

4x=0
x=0

If only (4x+12) is under the root, add 12 to both sides first to get sqrt(4x+12)=12
square both sides to get 4x+12=144
4x=132
x=33

well it depends on whats under the square root. im guessing its like sqrt(4x+12)-12=0 and if thats right:
sqrt(4x+12)=12 << move everything so that the sqrt is alone
square both sides
4x+12=144
4x=132
x=33

Put the parentheses. If we take them as they are:
