They are if you have unrealistic expectations. Sometimes people have unrealistic expectations. Like wanting to be a millionaire by the time you are thirty for most people would be an illogical expectation. But if your expectation is to be happy that is not illogical. So to answer your question I don't think expectations are illogical if your expectations are realistic and obtainable.

NO!

They are only illogical when we base them on "wishes" rather then cold and hard "reason"... In short, expectations are only as illogical as we let them be.

I don't like rose tinted glasses, If I have an expectation then its due to my evaluation of past and currant Fact and applying that fact to what ever possibilities the future is supposed to hold... its a reasoned "Guesstimate" rather then a Wish or a Pipe-dream.

Our Dreams can be as fanciful as we wish, no rules or limits exist in the mind. But, when we take our dreams and project them into the future and call them "expectations" it is not mealy illogical... its a recipe for disappointment, failure and heart break. This is not to say that to aim high is a bad thing, only that if you want to make dreams a reality you must work on the tangible and the real... you must apply logic and keep your expectations under control, achieve what can be achieved and don't listen to those fools who tell you that anything is possible... THEY ARE WRONG. There are some things that just will not happen, accept it.

Don't try reaching for the stars until you have actually stepped on the moon....and it might be an idea to have mastered the basic principles of flight, astro-physics and aced the NASA entrance exam before you try for that... well you get the general idea.

Not always, it depends, sometimes if you set the right actions in motion then you can expect a certain logical outcome. But if you´re just hoping with no real pre-defined results...then yes, its illogical.

Maybe, if you are thinkin' in a particular problem you may have some good odds. If you are considering a situation you may have a reasonable doubt. But if you are referring to people you may fall into pre judge. And that's illogical to me.

Absolutely not. I believe that we should expect the best of everyone and every situation. If things fail to meet those expectations, there's always next time.

for me yes... because when you expect it's not going to happen... expectations are meant to give you higher outlook for the person which outs the person in pressure... what you have to expect is the least expected
