Its probably a clogged filter!

Check with your manual on the refridgerator and see where its located, then get the same type and replace it... You should be ok.

Oh, first, go to where the "saddle clamp" is, and shut the water off, so that you can replace the filter, or you will have a mess.

You dont need a plumber for this...

But, if you have "lime" in the lines...(ask your municipality if they add lime to the water), then you will probably need to replace the entire line...you still dont need a plumber, but, you need to be able to be handy with tools.

I wish you well...

Check your water line from the source of water all the way to the ice machine.

We had the same problem, only to find out there was a leak (going on for sometime), somewhere along the line and destroyed our floor and had to have that whole area redone with new flooring. The ice machine eventually did not produce ice, but we could hear it cycling. Thank god for home owner's insurance.

Do you hear the ice machine cycling?
If not, it is probably dead.
You'll need to replace the unit.

Very easy to replace if you do it. If you have a warranty on the fridge, contact the manufacture first.

Definitely not. You have to call the repair man, but, before letting him start repairing you have to ask him what's causing it to do so. Ask him how and what part does it need to have it fix. Or ask if it is still under warranty and where the parts available.

By asking those questions, you could already estimate if you have the ability to repair it yourself.

If you are not akin or have no knowledge how ref works, you might make a damage bigger than your head and it will cause you to throw you ref and buy a new one. (Which I think most moms would like to have - A NEW REF!!

So, be careful.
