Can somebody suggest me a site for a suitable stock market simulator similar to the one on investopedia.com for the indian market

Well, I kick over ideas on some of the contests (Zacks.com has a "challenge" that may still be open, so look and see). The games on virtualstockexchange.com have saved me a more than a few bucks when some of my stock screening results (from elsewhere) give me strange lists. Some things just don't do well when I think they should. I use them to help me sift out the theoretical from the practical (and sometimes I'm still none the better, watching stocks appreciate in value and then get another three days or so of big market drops to wipe it out).

I think they use real prices, but whther they are live, or not, would be interesting. They should also include realistic dealing costs. Personally I don't see the point. In a stock market all that happens is the share prices go up & down (or stay the same). A simulator should track the real stock market prices(preferably in real time). Then you need to be able to place orders which will match with orders on the order book. So the simulator should also show the order book in depth. It is difficult to see how the real order book can be accurately simulated. To further complicate matters youcan also deal with the market makers over the telephone and maybe get better prices than the order book. I don't think you can simulate that.
