They really do believe that the ends justify the means. That they are on a noble mission to make the world safe for Christianity and Judaism. And what's wrong with little fraternity razzing at Club Gitmo anyway. It's all a joke, the prisoners are overly sensitive.

It could be part of the 'No Child Left Behind' policy.
What the acceptance of torture means is we have sunk to a new low of Humanity ! Does anybody really think that if the Republicons had run on a platform of torture, and secret prisons in foreign countries, that they would've had a easy time getting votes? No real American supports torture. There are some people that don't believe in our Constitution the way the Founding Fathers intended ! That's why they are pushing so hard to change things, in order to strip away the protections of our Rights. What our children are learning, is that to be a bully in the political arena, is the way to win. We attacked an innocent country, just to install our type of govt., on a population that doesn't want us there. Why does anybody think that we can bomb a country into a Democracy? That's not how WE got Democracy ! Nobody came over here, and shot at us, or bombed us with shock&awe, in order to force us into becoming a Democracy. Why do we think it'll work on the Iraqs' or anybody? It's just Corporate Fascism on the march !
The only ones to benifit from all the bloodshed will be the large multi-national corporations, and the bankers that fund the whole criminal war enterprise ! The whole baseless attacks on 'Liberals', is just part of that 'bully' mentality. Name calling, and threats, is that all they got, as far as a strategy of getting their point across in the media. The folks that 'parrott' the name calling crap they hear on the cable news, is a symptom of how the 'brainwashed' repsond when we confront them with the facts. As long as the noise of the name calling drowns out the truth, they falsly claim that the real truth is in the name calling, and proudly brag of how many folks are fooled by the neo-cons B.S. ! Just like in school, when the bullies in the back of the room, would make fun of any student that was more intelligent than them. It was a way for them to finally feel superior to the others. The current nasty remarks of the neo-cons is so immature and totaly unAmerican ! Our children are learning that force and deceit are the American Way of solving any crisis ! Wake up America ! America is not the Home to torturers or war profiteers !

As far as I know ALL of our Presidents have claimed the title "Christian." I also know for a fact that many Presidents have paved the path of war for the good of the people. Chief among them would be FDR. So your faulting a President, that had approval from Congress, is immature and ignorant. But, to go back to your question, yes Jesus suffered for me and we should all know the cost of salvation is not "free." You are free to choose, but once you do you cannot stay as you were. Through suffering, mild or great, the good news spreads and benefits the world. Men and women in our Military, Police, Fire and Rescue, and Emergency "suffer" and we benefit. Any time a building burns men and women risk life and limb to save. Police run towards the bullets while others wet themselves and cry. Jesus sole mission was to seek the lost and restore the covenant of man and God. When he comes back he will judge and he will not be the man of peace you described. He will judge and make war and settle all accounts. Jesus did preach blood offering. He talked about "striking the Shepard" "the sign of Jonah" and "Doing the Fathers will."

How is it "morally" correct to send our young folks off to a war that is being fought for all the wrong reasons??
Or to take away the rights that this country was founded on?
Or to disrespect the Constitution?
Or to care for our troops by feeding them tainted food and water--while making billions on the contracts?
Or to have such pitifully poor after-care for our veterans? (Or no care at all?)
And then there is torture! If there ever was a time that the US deserved the "bad rap" it's getting around the world, it was when we okayed "torture" as a means of getting suspects to "confess".
We do not take care of our sick unless they are lucky enough to have "benefits" at their jobs. We have an infant mortality rate that rivals that of third-world countries. We have so many "drop-outs" that we are becomming one of the least educated countries in the free world.
Where is the MORALITY in any of this???

Once the children learn torture they will have such an elevated disdain for humanity. Little things like Automakers closing a plant and firing 20K workers will be meaningless trivia.

It's to help raise another generation of fear filled haters so that our war machine will be running into eternity.
Can't have perpetual war without the consent of the people -so their Master Plan is actually brilliant in it's scope - and very frightening in it's depth.

Yeah, I am conservative and Republican, I do not teach torture to children. That is sick, they do not need to know about such things in the world until they are mature enough to handle it and develope their own opinions about the matter.

The Bushes have always practiced do as I say and not what I do. This is the conservative way. Laws are meant for the lesser people. The conservatives like to set the boundaries for others but will never agree to boundaries on themselves. I said this before Bush stole the election in Florida and will continue to say it. Bush and his cronies should not be running this country they have embarrassed us all over the world and will continue as long as the run rough shod over the people in this great nation.

I blame it on Hogans Heroes. You see my generation (X) grew up watching Hogan's Heroes and we learned all about the importance of the Geneva Convention and how Klink and Hofstedder couldn't violate it. We just understood that the Geneva Convention and proper treatment of prisoners was the American Way.
Now kids are raised on 24, and watching Americans use torture because the end apparently always justifies the means.
Back in 1942 a group of Germans gathered at Wannsee and patted themselves on the back as they set the Endloesung in motion. They too believed that the end justified the means.

They learn their morals from the Bible.
Unfortunately its the morals that the Pharisees and the Romans display, not the ones that Jesus displays or teaches.
