You should also want to "touch" the sky to make sure. Just becuase someone says something doesn't make it so (although if they're an expert it might be wise to provisionally believe them).
Just like you can touch a wall to make sure the paint is wet, you can look through a telescope and count the stars there.

Lol. i think of that is because of the fact of an inclination to have faith people who're experts of their fields devoid of having to scrutinize their artwork. If somebody who's an expert scientist says something, we are too lazy to envision learn and merely anticipate that individual is making the final calculations. yet besides, there are a hundred+ billion stars interior the galaxy. With 50 billion to 500 billion expected galaxies, it fairly is someplace around 10^22 stars. massive type expected.

Basically because people are curious (and rather stupid as well). So they test the wet paint, but they can't "test" the number of stars - so they just take it as a given since they can't check it themselves.

You usually don't touch it if it says "Wet Paint," because if you do, your hands will be sticky.

Probably because they don't eventually put out "dry paint" signs.
