However I would suggest that you try to obtain a VB6 "Working Model" edition from a local library. Many VB6 instructional books came bundled with a copy of the "Working Model" edition.
The "Working Model" edition of vb is limited to:
working with and executing code from just within the IDE
has no help capability
cannot create controls
cannot deploy programs to other machines
is not supplied with a couple of controls that are available in the other editions. Masked Edit is not provided for example
But with all of these limitations its FREE.
Do be aware that you will need to download and install SP6 from the MSDN website after installing any VB6 edition

Visual Basic 6.0 is commercial software. Microsoft will sell it t o you or you can find dealers at their site. I think it is about $350.00
If you are looking for an unauthorised copy of it, this is not the place to ask, it is illegal to steal.
