I've read too many to pick just one. I agree with "Me Talk Pretty One Day" by David Sedaris and would recommend any of the Discworld novels by Terry Pratchett. Even better if you listen to these books on CD!

"The Long, Dark, Teatime of the Soul" or "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency", both by Douglas Adams

Also, "My Family and Other Animals" by Gerald Durrell. (brother of Lawrence Durrell). He wrote a series of fascinating and often funny novels but this one is the funniest. I don't know if it's in print, but if it is, you should absolutely read it.

The series of Fletch books written by Gregory Macdonald used to make me laugh out loud. The dialouge is just great.

I think the funniest book I've EVER read in my life would probably be THE LIGHTENING THIEF. I is laughing so hard when I read it last week. When I read it I often find something funny that I've skiped before.

"Gullible's Travels" by Cash Peters. British radio guy going round to off-the-beaten-track museums in America.

Also, one called something like "Around Ireland With a Fridge" by Tony Hawk. British guy hitch-hikes around Ireland...with a mini fridge.
