Let me first say that Brett Farve is one of the best QBs ever and I still think that he was it takes to be successful.

However, any quarterback is only as effective as the weapons around him. And he has very little help on that team. They've done nothing to substantially improve their team in the short run over this off season, and I think that the other teams in the division are all going to be pretty tough.

That being said, I think the Packers will struggle, and I think that they will be somewhere around 7-9 for the year.

Well...8-8 last year was very impressive and far beyond many expecations of the team..they have a GREAT front seven..and Aaron Kampman is probably the most underrated DE in the league. With AJ Hawk leading the defense, they could cause some problems. The problem I have with the Packers is the secondary. They have guys that should be able to get it done, so why were they giving up so many huge plays? If they stop that, they're in the playoffs. I don't worry about their offense. Favre has a lot of weapons still to throw to and the scheme of running that the Packers run will allow just about any speedy running back to break 1000 yards on the season, it's almost like Denver only a little less effective. My guess for the Packers though, givent he schedule, will be another 8-8 season though...maybe they surprise me? Maybe they don't....We'll have to wait and see, but I think the Packers could step up and make it...

Even being a Vikings fan that I am I've got to say with a non biased opinion that the Pack might go 7-9.

Brett is In my Opinion, probably in the top 3 most talented QB's in the history of the NFL. But now, being 37 as he is I just think he is too old to be playing. He should have hung up the cleats this year, and the Packers would have been better off. With Brett staying in Green Bay, it gives A-Rod no chance to play in a regular NFL game.

The RB situation for the packers is one of the worst in the league. That RB from Nebraska won't solve your problems, Brandon Jackson I think his name is.

On the upside, your WR core is looking better, with Driver and Jennings as a 1/2 combo, and Robert F. is coming off that injury. Also, Aaron Kampman was absolutely nasty last year, and Justin Harrell will help the front 4 out.

Your LB crew is good, and A.J. Hawk is going to be nasty. But your biggest concern is the Secondary. That could cost you guys some games.

Anyways, I think 7-9 might be a reasonable record, you'll win 3-4 games in the division at least. 2 against the Lions, 1 vs. Vikings at Lambeau, and maybe 1 against Chicago. I don't know about the Playoffs, but you guys definitely have a chance if Brett surprises us all.

I think the Packers have an excellent chance to make the post-season. They play in a weak division, in a weak conference. I see alot of people here being critical about their running back position. They use the same zone blocking running scheme as the Broncos use, and the Broncos seem to have a different 1,000 yard rusher every year, so I don't think they need a big name back, they're fine there. Yeah, Brett is passed his prime but even at this time in his career, he's still more than serviceable. Even if the unthinkable were to happen, Brett gets hurt, they have Aaron Rodgers, which I feel can fill in just fine. They did draft a couple of wide recievers. From what I've heard, they seem very impressed with the 3rd rounder James Jones, and David Clowney is a burner. Greg Jennings is healthy, Driver is still there, they've got a couple of young TE prospects, so I feel they're serviceable at reciever as well. I think the defense was playing as good as any, at the end of last season. They ended the season winning 4 games in a row, including one at Chicago. If they can carry over that momentum, they should make it, and possibly win the division.

Not a chance in hell. I live in Wisconsin. I believe that Green Bay will likely be in the bottom five this year...under Detroit. They have done almost nothing to become a better football team. How anyone can predict them to go 10-6 is just beyond me. The only reason they might win 6 games this season is because their division is terrible, (including the Bears.) I fully expect the Vikings to win the division this season as long as they can just get average Quarterback play. That is saying something too, because I don't even like the Vikings.

I think that Packer management wants Favre to retire or something because the last two years when he complained about not having enough weapons, they have done almost nothing to help him out. I hope he gets injured two weeks into the season, or plays so terrible that they have to bench him. Don't get me wrong, I actually like Favre and think he is one of the all-time greats, but he should have retired. He is smart enough to know they cannot compete. He is playing for the records and Marino deserves to keep them until Manning takes them.

Actualy the Packers could win the division going 7-9. The Bears have Super Bowl Hangover written all over them. The Vikings are rebuilding and the Lions...are the Lions.

Packers could very well be the worst team ever to win a division and thereby go to the post season.

i believe in the packers, they came on strong in the second half of the year, and ended up with a respectable 8-8 record considering they had no real superstar on the team except brett. I do think they can make a run at the postseason this year. Donald driver will be healthy and have his usual great year. Greg jenning there other receiver will have 1 year of experience under his belt, and i think will have a thousand yard season. There runningback situation is the one area i am concerned about. they have Vernand Morency, but he is more of a fullback than a runningback. There defense will be better than last year. I am going to go out on a limb and say the pack goes 10-6, and makes the playoffs.

yes i think the pack have a chance. if you look at there defense the second half of the year it was in the top ten and and they have improved it since then and because of the zone blocking scheme you don't need a great running back if you look at the other teams around the league that use that scheme you will see they used old washed up HB's or even undrafted rookies and there offensive line has two awesome high caliber tackles and a a greatly improveing core of yung guards and centers and 6 games into the season season we get koren robinson back and people forget how good of a wide reciever he really is.

50-50. Come on it is the NFC. If they were in the AFC then I would say about 25% at best. In the NFC though the Wild Card slots are always in play because it is a DOWN Conference right now. Even if they can get to 8-8 they have a GREAT chance. I think slim to none on getting the division though.

they wont win their division. the bears r too talented for that division right now. brett farve is a top 3 Qb of all time but he doesnt really have anyone around him. his WRs are young and inexperienced with the exception of driver and they dont really have a running back or o-line. their defense made improvements last year but they are still in the bottom half of the league. they will be home watching the playoffs on tv again this year
