is make up primer really worth it?

u no the stuff u put on b4 ur foundation, is it really worth putting it on does it really help in making makeup last longer and more flawless??? im going to a big do, later and was wondering should i invest in some? any suggestions as to witch brand?

I have tried many and only 2 of them have worked for me. I have very oily/acne prone skin and the 2 that worked for me are: Murad skin perfecting serum and a brand called Per-fekt.
Both were over $50.00 at Nordstoms on line. Its a good investment in the summer when makeup seems to "melt away" with the heat. But I wouldnt bother with it in the cooler months when foundation seems to stay much longer.

I really like "Tarte" foundation primer. It's specifically made for around your eyes as well, so your eyeshadow and concealor won't slide off. it's fairly cheap, 27 bucks at Sephora, and it works fantastically. at first it's kind of oily, but within like 20 seconds, you can't even feel it anymore. it's amazing.

I only use primer for lashes, any thing else is unnecessary. Unless you're swimming, you don't have to worry about your makeup coming off. Don't waste your money.
