Just a question without a strong opinion, Sandstone?
You're getting soft! I would have expect something about handcuffs, flogging or blaming the woman!

Yes, it is not a good thing, but what good would it do to have a man stay with a woman if he didn't want to be there. There would probably be bad things happening in that environment. I know this isn't an ideal situation and children need both parents and today's society is a huge mess because of that very same problem but men who supply sperm and don't care about the results (children born) are not fathers, anyway. The answer is to MAKE THE SYSTEM WORK PROPERLY. Make the judges follow through and make these guys pay their share of the costs of everything involved. BUT ON THE SAME HAND----I BELIEVE THE JUDGES NEED TO ALSO BE FAIR ABOUT THE AMOUNT OF COSTS. Sometimes, these guys are given a big shakedown, so big, that they can't see the end of the stick and end up running totally because the costs/expenses are too high and they really can't see any other way out. The system is too lopsided. I have been a mother raising 2 children and a mother who NEVER RECEIVED 1 CENT OF CHILD SUPPORT FROM A LOSER EX HUSBAND. but I have also seen men who have been snowed under due to too much support being judged against them. I firmly believe that these men should not be forced into staying with mothers and their babies as some people may answer on here, because they would NOT make good fathers and giving sperm does NOT make a man a FATHER!!!!!!!!!!!

Effective legislation would be helpful.
Something where the primary caretaker is not based on sex.
I know several men who are raising their children, and yes, some since birth, ok?
So from the time that child is concieved it needs to be the expected outcome that the child shall have mother and father equally. Not optional. Enforceable.
In the best interest of the child. Who would tell you he needs his mom AND his dad.

Any 'man' who does that is not a man...he's a coward with neither a sense of responsibility nor the heart to care about the situation he's leaving behind....he should be held accountable by law and dealt with through court if necessary.. he has an obligation to the woman and child and the legal system should deal with him accordingly.

If it's a clear case of a man carelessly scattering his seed, he should be sterilized after two children are proven to be his. (If he hasn't married the woman or otherwise supported his children.) It's time we put a stop to these louses that have 12 children from 10 women and pay nothing to anyone.

The men should be impregnated and forced to go through a natural labor. They'll never abandon anyone again.

I think any man who leaves a woman pregnant should stay with her or at least stick by her after baby is born. If he leaves an wants nothing to do with baby he should be shot!!

I think they should be taken to the friend of the court, made to pay child support and then prayed for. And make sure you pray that they become more responsible adults, but first that gain their sanity back. Who wouldn't want to love someone that is a part of your own flesh and blood.
