support the troops that are in the middle of this. Improperly trained and crap for equipment. The big concern is how they are going to be taken care of. How is this country and it's people going to insure, afford and give proper treatment to these people?

Hey I got my 1st violation for yesterdays post. Don't understand why but ok.

Actually River Rat these were 2 Marines the pulled 2 tours a piece and retired. My concern is when they come home. Will they be properly taken care of? They deserve nothing but the best. Just like you when you came home. I don't want to see that happen again. I have family there also. They say it's a mess.

Thank you all. I tried to pick best answer but I enjoyed most of them equally. And thank you for explaining the errors in my last post.

delphi this question will most likely be violated by the right wing trolls as well. You have to post up your questions in proper grammar format in the primary as a question leader. You can always insert other details in the secondary portion of the question. The primary question showing on the post board has to be clear and intelligible with noun, verb content, and including a (?) mark at the end. The trolls will be all over that to violate you for such simple grammatical errors, and Yahoo will uphold the violation. Yahoo will state that it wasn't posted as a question, but as a statement. The reason the right wing troll had you violated was because your question was right on with 9-10 stars, and they don't want any real questions being asked about the Bush Administration. Right winged censorship at it's finest, so to speak. I would just repost the question in the format I suggested and it will stand then. I hope this helps.

By the way, your question's content was impeccable.

The answer to this question, and supporting the troops I agree with. Bush just has built a substandard military with all of his budget cuts. Most of the Iraq funding is going towards the Iraqis and to the BlackWater USA mercenaries being sub-contracted through Halliburton (KBR). The American military is being held hostage by George Bush in Iraq until he leaves office.

Your violation was probably for not actually asking a question, which is a clear violation of the Guidelines (read them by following the link, bottom of the page).

How are we going to take care of them?

Judging by our track record and how we've treated them thus far, I'd have to say we aren't, unless enough people put the pressure on to do what's right.

I heard last night that, for the 1 million folks that have served in the two wars, there are only 500 mental health professionals.

That's just wrong.

Not to mention the rest of it -- from lack of medical care, slashing their pay, letting their families starve, extending their leaves, failing to equip them, and especially sending them into harm's way for no good reason in the first place.

first, there are times when posters just detest what you ask or answer. So they automatically 'report'. Yahoo Answers get thousands of 'violations' throughout any given week. They don't have the time always to review every violation submission. So you are 'notified'. Actually some of the submissions here are foul..and no one bothers to 'notify'. I don't' report anyone. If I don't like the Q/A, I just simply move on.
As to the Iraq mess. According to Bush they are there for the long haul. People talk and express their concerns, but that's about all they do, and that includes our Congress. Ever notice how they have all of these 'hearings' - discuss the problem - make 'points' - and then what? Nothing. Look at the Walter Reed Hospital situation. Two weeks of non-stop coverage, and then what. Nothing. It's all a game. Politics. And by the way, as long as our troops continue to take whatever treatment this government thrusts upon them, the same treatment will continue.
It's a shame.

Yeah. A co-worker's son in law is on his third deployment and is sick too death of Iraq and Iraqis and has said he's ready to waste any of them for any reason. This young guy is in harm's way every day and has seen enough brutal stuff from the Iraqis that he's lost all respect for them.

He's a good soldier and executes the missions given to him, but he has no love nor concern for Iraq...only his brothers in arms and can't wait for the day when this nation finally stops trading American lives for some idea of victory in Iraq.

Vietnam should have taught us something...at least to the extent that only the people in the nation can really determine its future. The Iraqis deserve the opportunity to figure it out on their own. We can't fix it for them...no matter how much we want to believe that.

And look at Vietnam today...it's economy is growing and US companies are sourcing more and more American Jobs there.

In the end folks, the soldiers don't make policy. The American people determine policy and someday the jokers in Washington will eventually wake up to that fact.

Of course, two of the most vocal anti war " iraq veterans"

have been found to not have been veterans at all.

Jessie MacBeth who claimed he was a former ranger wounded in Iraq, was shown on all the anti war sites, was discharged from the US Army after 6 weeks for being mentally and physically unfit for duty.

Micah Wright , who claimed he was a Ranger, never served in any branch of the military.

Ex Marine Staff Sgt. Jimmy Massey who traveled with Cindy Sheehan , who was discharged for mental problems, has been found to have fabricated every statement he has made.

It's amazing how similar Iraq is to Vietnam. We were doing reasonably well in Nam until the liberal demcrats cut off our funding and Nixon had to pull us out because we didn't have the money for food, let alone fighting material. It's the same today. Reid, Pelosi and the rest of the libdem traitors to everything the US stands for are slowly eroding support, pulling money from the troops and making them look bad. We also had chickenshit troops during Nam, just like those two you heard last night

We will all hear their stories when they com home, safely I hope. Then, people will know the truth, and hopefully, this will be a reminder to those who supported the war to make wise decisions in the future. If people are strong in their desire for change, it will happen.

What kind of support are they asking for? I surly will not support the purchase of weapons to kill other human beings.

Yup--same stuff I got from my husband, when he returned from Iraq.

He worked with the Iraqi Army and helped train them for a year. He has very little respect for them. His words, not mine: "They're lazy and ungrateful and just want everything handed to them. They don't want to work for the opportunities we've basically delivered to them on a silver platter."

Sorry about your post violation! :(

I remember the first time I got mine and was equally confused; I had just mentioned Michael Moore's "Sicko" in response to a post on the health-care industry. I assume some Right-Winger didn't like me talking about it, even though it was totally applicable!

bush said that he will keep them there, in harm's way, until he is out of office.

Glory be the day when Security finally directs the lame duck & co. to the EXIT signs over the White House doors!

Then, and only then will our troops really be supported.

That's funny! I've heard quite the opposite. I personally know two people who are stationed in Iraq (my uncle being one of them) who give me weekly updates and eyewitness accounts of how things are going over there in Iraq. He tells me that things aren't as bad as the media makes it out to be. He said the news ONLY reports the negatives and NEVER show the positive and that him and most other soldiers are tired of it. He said the equipment is fine, the living conditions are great despite the circumstances, MOST of the Iraqi people are extremely grateful, and overall the morale is high.

Don't believe everything you hear. Your "friends" might need to reconsider their perspectives. Sounds like a bunch of left-wing, liberal, rhetoric to me.
