of your best friend moving away? well, its happenig to me now. she isnt moving far away...only about 15-20 minutes, but we will be going to different schools. i need to think of a gift to give her. not an expensive one, but one that really means something. i dont have that many pics of us, so it would be kinda hard to make a scrapbook. but i was also thinking about-

1) throwing a surprise party (or would that just make everyone sad?)
2) getting 'best friends' rings and seeing if i could get them engraved on the inside, like a wedding ring, with both of our names. (do you know any stores that would do that?)

what did you get your best friend when they moved away? i really want something meaningful, so let me know what you think of the ideas above!!

thank you so much!

I've had three times when my best friend has moved away, when I was a sophomore in high school i moved to a different school two hours away from all my friends from school and sports...
You could make her a movie or record a mix tape telling her how much you miss her and what your friendship means to you. Do this in secret along with a surprise party and she will feel wonderful knowing how much everyone cares about her. It is most important however to keep in touch and be there for her without being jealous when she makes new friends.
FYI, I've kept in touch with my friends through email and phone calls and even after ten years we still hang out whenever we can.

I don't know what the best thing to do is, but almost anything you do is better than what I did (which was nothing). When I was 17 my best friend abruptly left to join the Air Force. In truth, he probably knew he was leaving for awhile, but he didn't know how to break the news to me, so he just let it ride until almost time for him to go. We were close: we went to the same church, same school, same neighborhood, same scout troop, (we even dated sisters, for God's sake) so it was quite a shock when he told me he was leaving...right away. To my 17 year old way of thinking, he was breaking up the team, and I handled it badly. I didn't attend the gathering our church had for him, and I didn't see him off. I have always regretted that, because, though he is alive and well and currently living somewhere in Georgia (my mother told me that last week), I wasted the chance to say good-bye. When we grow up, things change in ways you could never have anticipated when you were young. Time is precious, and closure to things is of paramount importance. So anything you do will make you feel better than doing nothing at all. It's a bittersweet memory, but I thank you for causing that to come to mind again. Good luck to you.

Everyone has disorders. Trust me. I lately discovered this while I needed to spend extra time with a woman I could not stand than I desired. She and I each joined this membership. This woman goes to be valedictorian. She's lovely. She has had the equal, widespread boyfriend for 2 years. She's an athlete. She has plenty of peers. She's wealthy. But while I listen her within the membership. This woman.. she's so insecure. She's on weight watchers. She's frightened of lifestyles. She are not able to do her possess laundry. She's terrified of the long run. She's ordinary. We all are.
