I think I was about 9.We had an open air pool 15 mins up the road,so mum decided to send me to lessons there,so I could spend the summer out her way,lol.
It closed down a few years ago, :o(
But one summer me and all my mates went swimming and some dirty little sod did a great big ***** in the pool and they had to close it and clean all the pool.The local kids were not happy!

I could actually swim before I could walk (around age 1, I'm not even sure). My mother took me to a program called 'water babies'. We were born from a liquid environment so its much more natural than one might think. Many people learn to fear water but I don't think that we were born with that.
I've loved water and swimming my whole life (I'm 43 now) and in a few minutes if I can stop answering all these addictive questions I'm going to head on down to my local pool for my weekly swim, thanks for reminding me.

I was 3 when I first learned to swim. My mom started us early because she was afraid of the water.

when i was 6. i took swimming lessons then.
i remember this one boy in the same swimming class i'm in... he was really struggling and when he got out on the pool, he didn't realize he lost his trunks. lol.

I think I was like 6 or something like that, I almost drowned, yup. Good times, good times.
