why do parents get so worked up abut myspace? its not myspace thats bad its just the people on it,.

because parents have no lifes and are old skewl and dont understand that websites r not bad and technoligy is not bad but the people who use it are bad

It's in the news how (as you stated) there are bad people lurking on sites such was myspace and the horrible things that happen to the victims (usually minors). Parents are just naturally worried that their son/daughter could put themselves at risk. I'm pretty sure (at least I hope so) if the parents knew their children and their friends they should feel less insecure. Trust should also be a factor and how they were raised.

Parents care about their children, they worry about them and only want them to be safe. My parents don't know about computer etc, so I don't really have that concern, nor do I use it anyway.
But from what I have seem, because there are a lot of people on the net and you can't just trust someone with ease etc. Yet there are those bad people who try to get so close to you for purposes. A lot of people put VERY detailed informations about themselves etc on the net. And as far as what I have seen, many people use it for dating purpose as well. If I was a parent, I would've worried if my kids use an online dating service. Unless, they are very educated and know what is right and what is not.

Did you read in the news where Texas just arrested 7 sexual predators who were using "My Space" to try and attract young women. This just happened yesterday. And you want to know why parents are concerned? Wake up my friend.
