As much as I hate to say it Castro has been the better leader for his country. Mugabe has turned Zimbabwe into an economic disaster to a degree that Castro couldn't even do.
Good Luck!!!

I visited Cuba last year. (Cuba is a dictatorship under the leadership of Fidel Castro.) My wife and I travelled about a bit. Cuba is not a wealthy country it is true. Cuba has been under a US trade embargo for the last 40 years (including medication) and they seem to be surviving well in spite of it. Cubans do not own their own houses but they get them from the government. I heard lots of nice Cuban music in the bars and resaurants and the people seemed happy - in fact I had the impression that the Cuban staff at the hotel were more chearful than the guests!
I don't know very much about Zimbabwe or Robert Mugabe but from the news the people live in wretched conditions and there is torture and grave human rights issues. It is certainly NOT the sort of country you would want to travel round on your own. Instead of the government giving poeple houses they burn down the houses of their political opponents. I know where I would rather live!

Castro is the much better leader and we have probably been subjected to an awful lot of US propaganda on the subject. Mugabe will also have been subject to propaganda, but if his country had oil, I am sure we would have gone in by now.
This man has slaughtered his opposition (5th brigade in Matabele land) and is now starving the people of a once prosperous and productive land.
I was in South Africa at the time of the hated apartheid and even then I can assure you that I had a number of workers from Zimbabwe who would sooner live under that, than get killed in their homeland.
He is a despot.

Mugabe is a garden variety dictator. Fidel Castro is one of the most inspiring leaders the world has ever seen. There may never again be another leader who can give a 6 hour speech on the ideals of socialism. Despite it's poverty, Cuba has made remarkable achievements.
If only the fascists and neo-con trolls will stop attacking Cuba and look at their own vices.

Both are undemocratic dictators with questionable human rights records.
Cuba under Castro has publicly funded health care, education and a lower rate of infant mortality than USA. It has a literacy rate of 97%, far and away the highest in the Caribbean.
Zimbabwe under Mugabe is collapsing, and people are starving.
Life under Castro is immeasurably better than life under Mugabe.

I recommend you're taking a plane to Miami and talk with any Cuban American older than 50 years previous. he or she permit you to grasp that Cuba replaced into the main fascinating island interior the Caribbean. additionally they are going to permit you recognize of the tens of hundreds of murders that befell, people who have been thrown in penal complex for speaking out, people who nevertheless proceed to threat their lives just to go away, merely because of the fact Castro is the dictator there. i could recommend you %. up a history e book yet i'm beneficial that the history books available in our college gadget now shows Fidel as a tropical Santa Claus. don't be fooled via Sean Penn, Susan Saranwrap and Michael Moore. carry out a little genuine learn. shheeesssshhhhh.....
