A boy is half as old as his sister and two years younger than his brother. The sum of the ages of the three children is 34 years. How old is each child?

b1 = x
b2 = x + 2
s = 2x

x + (x + 2) + 2x = 34
4x + 2 = 34
4x = 32
x = 8

b1 = x = 8
b2 = x + 2 = 10
s = 2x = 16

age of boy = (34-2)/ 4
=8
boy = 8, sister = 16, brother 10

Let the ages be x,y,z So A.T.Q. ,x+y+z+34,x=y/2 ,z=x+2 Solving we get, x = 8,y = 16 ,z = 10

I love these! If tghe age of the boy is x, then the sister is 2x and the brother is x+2. Thus:

x + 2x + x+2 = 34

4x = 32
x=8
