When I was 15, I got into Louis L'amour who was very much a romantic adventurer basically. The books are fairly short, pretty predictable, but very cute love stories that basically make you feel warm and fuzzy inside while not getting too graphic. Another series I found that I liked was The Wolfwalker series. It's not vampires or werewolves, the most fantastical idea in it is humans able to mentally communicate with wolves, and sort of psychic healing type powers, but it's not the BIGGEST part of the story, and the storyteller has actually done things like climb cliffs so when she writes about it you can feel the rocks in your hands. I like to recommend Grayheart for most teens, since it's one of the most romantic ones, and stands on it's own. But I also liked the first books that Tara K. Harper wrote in the series. It's very much action/romance.

I have read tons of books that are really good for teens (I am a teen myself!) Try books from E.R Frank: Friction, America, Wrecked, Life is Funny
Teresa Toten: Me and the Blondes, Better than Blonde (sequel)
The Queen of Everything by Deb Caletti
Troy by Adele Geras (greek mythology)
You dont know me by David Klass
Sloppy Firsts by Megan McCafferty (very funny book, i believe there are two other sequels)

I would suggest:
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray
A northern Light by Jennifer Donnelly*
The It Girl by Cecilly Von Zeigsar*
Wicked Lovely by Mellissa Marr*
Uglies by Scott Westerfeild
Also try books by Lois Duncan she is a great writer...
I am reading Gossip Girl by Von Zeigsar right now and it is great so far as well!
