ALl things are relative. One person and only one person your entire life--and you live to be 85?
Do-able but probably not realistic.
I do believe that serial monogamy is not only realistic, but highly appropriate.

If you define monogamy as being with one person for your whole life... such as some whacky religions believe... then it totally unrealistic.
If being faithful to the person you are with in any particular relationship at a time can be called monogamy then I think it is realsitic.
Expecting monogamy just because a relationship exists is unrealistic.... expecting or demanding someone to be faithful requires a lot of communication and compromise.
This is why so many marriages fail.... there is an expectation of monogamy but no recognition it has a price.

I don't think humans are wired for monogamy. This is why people cheat and the divorce rate is so high.

I believe so, if both persons are mature and talk about EVERYTHING before entering into a serious relationship. For example, religion, kids, communication is the key! That way you know what to expect, and so do they. Hope this helps! :)

Only if you are a mature & loving human being.
Immature, selfish wimps don't have the self control to commit to "love"---and probably don't feel it anyway.
