normal suggested wait time is 3 weeks. Once you have completely healed and your uterus has had ample time to contract to normal size.

As long as you feel up to doing it then go for it. I only waited about 3 weeks so you are doing better than me. If you have any pain then stop, but you can definately try. Just be clean and careful. Technically you are supposed to wait til after you have had your 6 week check up but like I said I didn't.

The doctor should have answered this question for you before you left the hospital..but in any sense.....You are suppose to wait at least 6 weeks after giving birth to have sex again.

The typical time frame is 6 weeks after birth. It may be longer if you tore or had an episiotomy. I waited 6 weeks, but the first couple of times still hurt from my stitches.

However, if you feel healed "down there" it's ok to start slowly and gently and use lots of lube.

I just had a baby, and I was told to wait 6 weeks.

If you had a easy labor with no tears you should try it. I started again a little after a month. Tell your husband to take it slow and try it out. The first few times I tried it, it hurt like hell. So, try it and see if you like it. But, most doctors do reccommend 6 weeks.

Not at all! In fact, its a good idea to have had sex before you get your six week post natal checkup so that you know everything is all ok.

Go for it - assuming you have got the energy with a month old baby around!!!!

Do you have a follow-up appointment with your OB/GYN? You usually have a follow-up at six weeks, and, if everything looks OK, the doctor will tell you you can start having sex again then.

well generally they say 6 weeks you should wait. but if you think your botdy is healed enough i would go see your obgyn and let here examine you before you decide to have sex again. if your not compleatly healed it will hurt like hell. plus you can reinjure yourself causing you to have to wait longer

After your six week check. You need to heal and be sure that you aren't leaving yourself open to infection.
